Though defeating iPhone doesn’t seems to be anywhere around in the near future, Android is catching up fast after it. This chase reminds me of Yahoo chasing Google since it was launched.
According to adMob metrics report, Google’s Android OS grew an average of 47 percent; the release of T-Mobile G1 is the key driver for this. G1 was able to capture around 6 percent of the entire OS market in the US. Still, it has to do a lot of effort to reach near the 50 percent market share of Apple’s iPhone.
Apple’s iPhone, the favorite of the world, captures 50 percent of the mobile web traffic US market and 36 percent of the world mobile web traffic. It is also in the first place of the popular handset in US. The next popular handsets of US are Blackberry Curve, Blackberry Pearl. G1 Android mobile stands in the fourth place.
