People in UK are relying more on themselves than the vendors in their home renovation plans. Though it is not proved directly, the increase in DIY tools market can support the fact.
According to a report by Research and markets, the market of Do it yourself tools and materials, grew by 2.6 percent in 2008. The total market of DIY tools and materials in 2008 was £11.73 billion. The market is not estimated to grow with such extent in between 2009 to 2010, as the economic crisis in UK might impact the housing market. However, analysts expect it to grow form 2011 again.
Of all the DIY products, the top five were paint and wood care, wall coverings, ceramic tiles, electricity tools and accessories, and decorating and hand tools. It was found that these five products accounted to £2.72 billion business of the total £11.73 billion revenues of DIY tools and materials market.
